Off to a Great Start!
Hi Team-
It is so great to have you all back in the pool and I am so excited for a big group. Us coaches met and did a little organization with our groups, a re-branding so to speak. Please note that these groups are a work in progress. We are trying to optimize pool time and fitness on busy days. We are offering drylands (core strengthening, mobility, and agility) for all groups except our Under 8s (they may get a little later in the season and sometimes we sneak it in practice times as well to mix it up).
4 Groups: See attached sheet, let me know if you have any questions or I missed a registered swimmer, stranger things have happened.
Little Frys (Under 8): 5-5:45pm M, W, and Th.
Crimson Group (Former 8-12s): M, W, and Th, Drylands 5:45-6pm, Pool 6-7pm.
Teal Group (some of 8-12s, some of over 11): M, W, and Th, 5-6pm in pool, 6-6:30pm for drylands.
Big Sturgeons (Some of the Over 11): M, W, and Th Drylands 5-5:30pm, Pool 5:30-7pm.
*Tuesday and Fridays are the late days 6:30-8:30pm without drylands and are just for the Teal, Crimson, and Big Sturgeon Groups. On Tuesday and Fridays Big Sturgeons swim 6:30-8:30pm. Teal swims 6:30-8pm and Crimson Group swims 6:30-7:45pm.
** If you are a 3 day a week swimmer you are welcome to opt for either a Tuesday or a Friday, or both if your swimmer is looking for more swim time.
*** In the second half of the season, mid December on, we may have more pool time options depending on the College Swim and Diving schedule.
Meets-
Please sign up for the November UVAC meet in White River Junction, VT by this Saturday evening (10/25). I will be submitting entries on Sunday afternoon (10/26). Meets are a fun way to test your skills and get some quality team bonding while waiting for your swims on the pool deck. You can sign up for 1 session or 2 sessions. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
We also have some home meet options formulating, our home meet opener November 2nd is a mock meet (unofficial, intersquad meet (just us)). I have set it up as a pentathlon, meaning all kids will do all 5 events and a relay if possible. Littlest swimmers will likely only do 25 Bk, 25 Fr, and maybe a Relay. This will be a great low key meet like experience where we all get practice doing a meet (parents, coaches, and kids). This will be good for all of us to get ready when we are hosting meets with other teams on Nov 22nd, Dec. 13 and 14th, and March 6th and 7th this year. Please check out the sign-up calendar on our website and sign-up today.
Team Store- Deadline for orders are Monday October 27th 10pm. If you are interested in team gear (sweats, suits, name caps, etc.) get your orders in today. Check out the team store tab of our website for details on how to place your order.
Janina Cuneo Bodyworks- Coach Kari’s daughter Nina is starting her business as a certified Rolfer. She is offering heavy discounts for CVSA swimmers and families. She treats all bodies and ages. So if you are injured or active and your body could use a little TLC check out her website and offerings.
I likely forgot something in this email, I am having that kind of week. My ducks are not in a row, but never fear they will get there. So if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. Until then, see you at the pool!
Coach Hilary
PS. I have also attached my welcome email for the season, in case some of you just joined us or need a refresher on the information (it is a lot).
