Historic Day, I am cancelling swim practice due to weather!
Hi Sturgeons-
I hope you all had a great weekend. I am writing this morning to let you all know that I am cancelling swim practice due to weather. So NO PRACTICE TONIGHT MONDAY JANUARY 26th 2026! Stay safe and enjoy the snow! Feel free to use Tuesday or Friday as make-up practices this week, to get your swimming in.
I want to congratulate all the swimmers who braved the cold on Saturday and competed in the Pentathlon in one of my old high school pools. It was fun to catch up with old friends and watch our swimmers compete.
If you want another Pentathlon opportunity we have one on March 1st at UVAC for all swimmers 14 &Under. All 14 & Unders are in the same session and bonus it is not a super early start. It could be a good one to sign up for if you are around that weekend. The swimming fun does not have to stop if your swimmer did not make it to Silvers or Age Groups.
Also I want to remind everyone that the team gear/fundraiser order is due today at 10pm if you are interested in more gear for the family place your orders today.
Next up on our horizon are the Silver Championships next weekend!
Friday February 6th I am going to have a group practice, team relays, and mock-meet for 10&Unders. The older swimmers and coaches will organize. It will be low-key and fun.
There is the Fitter and Faster Clinic at UVAC Saturday Feb 7th and Sunday February 8th. You can sign-up for both sessions or 1 only, if you are interested, check out the details here. Even 13 & Overs will still be back on Sunday before kick-off for the Superbowl.
Then there are Age Group Champs, which require higher level qualification times over the course of 3 weekends in February.
February 13-15 for 10&Unders at URI, February 19th-22nd at Boston Sports Institute for 11-14s, and February 26th - March 1st at WPI for 15-18s.
Then I will try to put together a Home Meet on Friday March 6th and Saturday March 7th.
We have the New Hampshire State Swimming Association Champs at UVAC March 13th and 14th, it is a fun opportunity to compete as a team with relays and everything. I think it is a great end of the season meet for our team and it often gives kids some good cut times for next season (summer times don't usually count).
We will also be doing an end of season banquet at St. Mike's on Saturday the 28th of March. On Friday March 27th we will be having an hour long swim-a-thon, I will send out information about that as I organize the details.
There you go, the season wrapping up in a nutshell. But we have a lot of fun left. Stay strong and focused, good things will happen for you!
Alright see you at the pool, not today, but tomorrow!
Coach Hilary
