Let's Closeout the Season with a Bang at UVAC!

Hi Sturgeons!

Get excited for the NHSA meet at UVAC this weekend. If you need more info please refer to the NHSA meet website. Also I have mostly all the meet details you could need right here in this email. Please read the details carefully and ask questions. I love questions, there is no such thing as a stupid question. This meet is run more like a VSA Summer State Champs if you are familiar with that one. As a team we are required to fill more meet helper roles in addition to timing roles.

Jobs Sign-Up

I am putting this first in the email because it is very important we fill these jobs.

All meet helpers check in for your role at the volunteer table in the lobby to get your laynard that shows you are allowed on deck and serving in a meet helper role.

Please sign up here today! Team work makes the dream work. Serving in a helper role also gives you a front row seat to the action and makes the meet go by way faster. Be a meet hero!

Officials:

Please sign up for officiating. You can sign up in the Hospitality room on the pool deck (behind lane 1) an hour before the start of each session or before the meet preferred. But either way works. The Officials meeting starts 45 minutes before the start of the meet. Contact Meet Ref: Laura Lewis ([email protected]) if you have any questions or would like to let her know you are coming before the meet.

Scratches

This meet will be full with 4 hour sessions. The meet organizers need to know of scratches ASAP so there is no wasted time on empty lanes without swimmers in them. Please let me know of scratches due to illness ASAP! Text is best: 612-222-4526! Scratch deadline is 3pm for Friday PM session, 7am for Saturday AM, and 1:30pm for Saturday PM. Let me know if something is up by the deadline so I can take your swimmer out of the meet and have time to adjust relay swimmers if I can!

Arrival Times/Meet Schedule

Friday PM- Arrive at 3:30pm (scratch by 3pm) done by 8:10pm.

Saturday AM- Arrive at 7:40am (scratch by 7am) done by 1:30pm.

Saturday PM- Arrive at 2:50pm (scratch by 1:30pm) done by 7:20pm.

Parking Fees and Location

Parking is an issue, there are lots of people and not enough parking at UVAC. Both options take time. Plan an extra 15-30 minutes.

Option 1: Pay for onsite CASH ONLY ($20 per day/ $30 per weekend). Small bills and exact change only.

Option 2: Go to the free-offsite lot at 243 Sykes Mountain Ave, White River Junction and take the shuttle.

Obey Safe Sport Considerations and Facility Rules

Please obey all UVAC facility rules and signage.

Swimmers use bathrooms in designated lockerrooms.

Parents/Spectators use bathrooms upstairs in the stands.

Coaches and Meet Helpers use bathrooms by the splash cafe.

No photography behind the blocks or in the stands behind the blocks, this violates rules of safe sport.

No flash photography at the start could mess up timers or swimmers.

No swimmers in the stands, they will be crowded. If you need to check in with your swimmer, do so after their race in the lobby then send them back onto the pool deck to their team and coaches.

Remember the division of labor: Coaches coach, officials officiate, parents parent, and swimmers swim. It’s much more fun this way and less confusing for all.

Read the meet information sheet for comprehension (lots of good stuff in this bulletin).

Vendors

Ink factory sweatshirts will be there to take your money.

The Poolside Cafe will be open for food and snacks.

Ok let’s get excited for a fun filled end of season meet. Please let me know if you have any questions. I am getting pretty excited to see what these kids can do! Let’s go Sturgeons!
