End of Season Update #2- No Drylands and no practice this Friday!
Hi Sturgeons:
Only 2 more weeks of Winter Swim Season! But if you want more swimming this spring we do have spring training opportunities and sign-up is open.
We just had our last official meet at UVAC for the season, the New Hampshire State Champs. We had many fast times and good times for all. Some take aways from the meet:
- Thank you families for stepping up and getting kids there on time for the meet (some even made it before me!).
- Thank you to the meet helpers for signing up and volunteering your time. It takes a literal army of people to run these meets and we could not do it without your help.
- On Saturday morning we almost did not have enough officials to run the meet, so thank you to those of you who have signed up to be officials for our team. You are heroes and without you we could not have these meets. If you want more information on how to be a hero, please reach out to me. I can help get you set up on your officiating journey. Also this includes discounts on team registration fees.
- To my swimmers, thank you for being good teammates and good sports. Our swimmers were first to shake hands with other swimmers with the race. We also had teammates that stepped up to fill in spaces in relays so the relay could still happen. A special thank you to Tim for his kindness and bravery in the swimming exhibition with the 11-12 girls relay. You made 3, 11-12 girls very happy and without you they could not have swam their relay.
Practices this week:

Get your swimathon fundraising pages up and running if you want in on the action. An invite should have made it to your inbox, they would be sent from our fundraising platform Dojiggy. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Our Banquet on Saturday the 28th at St. Mike’s will be a potluck dinner, please sign-up. I hope you can make it.
Here is a message from the some of our CVSA Swim Parents:
Dear Swim Families,
Our coaches have done such a great job helping our kiddos be their best swimming selves while having fun in a positive, supportive environment, so let’s do something wonderful to thank them (and thank Hilary for all of her hard work in running CVSA)!
We plan to get thank you gifts on behalf of the CVSA families.
If you would like to make a contribution ($10-15, or whatever you think is reasonable), please do so before 3/23. You can contribute in the following ways:
- Cash or Check (to Stacy Simonyi) during practice… If we have not yet met, I’m usually in the stands during practice (I always have my teal North Face backpack with me).
- Or you can Venmo Emily @Emily-McLean-16... please add a comment about the swim team when you contribute.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions (or ideas for gift card purchases!). Also, please let other swim families know!
Stacy (Violet’s Mom)
Emily (Xandra’s Mom)
