Sunday Morning Updates
Hi Sturgeons-
I just got back from a fun meet with a few of our Sturgeons at the new Boston College High School Pool! We had all best times! That pretty much never happens! We have been working hard in the pool and our efforts show! Thank you to the parents that made the drive down and a special thank you to Silas's dad Joe Gavin for apprenticing to be a Stroke and Turn Official. Becoming an Official is the single most important thing you can do to ensure our kids will have sanctioned meets at our home pool and throughout the New England area. I give discounts on registration fees to dedicated officials. Even if you have young kids this is doable. You get deck access and front row seats to the action in the pool area. No prior swimming experience required. Email me if you are interested. I can send information on how to and put you in touch with some officials on our team if you have questions.
Alright, officiating plug over, now onto the week.
Practices-
Our swim schedule is normal schedule.
However this week I am adding in a dryland session on Wednesday before practice for both Teal and Big Sturgeons at the dance studio in the St. Mike's Rec center.
Big Sturgeons 4:30-5:20pm Drylands in the dance studio, 5:30-7pm swim practice in the pool.
Teal 5:25- 5:55pm Drylands in the dance studio, 6-7pm in the pool.
Drylands at CrossFit Burlington for Big Sturgeons only this Friday 4-5pm.
Meets-
Meets are the fun part, where we get to put all our hard work to the test. They are a really good opportunity for kids to hang out with other kids and learn what being part of a team is all about.
This is the last chance to sign up for the October 17th Meet at UVAC! Let me know by the end of today if you want to join via email!
Also sign-up for the end of Fall training practice meet on Thursday October 22nd (not October 23rd as I originally stated). My plan is to have all practice groups come at 5pm, we will warm-up for 20mins and then we will run a practice meet. Sign-up through swimtopia if you want in on the action!
Thanks for tuning in. Have a great Sunday and see you at the pool!
